Making room for what comes next.

The best kind of progress is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like a team doing the work well, a client team leaning in with us, and a growing organization finding its next level of focus.

Over the last two months, I have had a front-row seat to that kind of progress. It has been one of those seasons that reminds me why I started this work in the first place—and why I am so proud of the people who carry it forward every day.

What SFA Academy reminded me.

Our work with SFA Academy has been meaningful for more than the technology we delivered. It has been meaningful because of the people involved. The SFA staff showed up with clarity, patience, and a genuine commitment to their students, families, and team members. Our Benchmark team met that energy with care, hard work, and the kind of follow-through that does not always make it into a project plan but makes all the difference when it is time to deliver.

Together, we have been building an environment that can keep pace with a school that is growing. That means stronger connectivity, more dependable access, better support for the people in the front office, the Dean of Students, the Principal, faculty, coaches, and everyone who helps a school day work. The goal was never simply to put technology in place. It was to help create room for learning, communication, safety, and the next chapter of the academy.

The work behind the connection.

There is a number that still gets my attention: 20 miles of fiber and Ethernet cable laid over the past two months across a variety of projects. From McDonough, Georgia to South Florida, that is a lot of distance—and a lot of coordination, planning, early starts, long days, and people taking pride in getting the details right.

Those cables will not get the spotlight. They are behind walls, above ceilings, and beneath the places people walk every day. But they are part of what allows organizations to move with confidence—supporting devices, access points, security, communication, and the day-to-day systems people count on. I am proud of the way our staff approached that work across every project and grateful for the clients and partner teams who worked alongside us. Good projects happen when both sides care about the outcome.

Building what comes next.

This season has also brought a lot of momentum beyond one project. We are introducing two businesses that represent where our organization is going: SimpliSmart and Broadlink. Each one is being built with the same belief that has guided Benchmark from the beginning: technology should make life and work clearer, more connected, and more manageable.

SimpliSmart gives us another way to think about useful, approachable technology experiences. Broadlink strengthens the connectivity side of the picture—the part that makes everything else possible. Together with Benchmark, these businesses let us serve our clients with a broader view while keeping the personal relationships and accountability that got us here.

A personal shift in the work.

For a long time, I have been right in the middle of field projects with my teammates. I have always valued that. I like being close to the work, understanding the pressure points, and seeing the result take shape alongside the people doing the heavy lifting.

But growth asks different things of us at different moments. My next step is not about stepping away from the team or the work. It is about stepping back from the day-to-day field role enough to focus more fully on the overall growth of the organization: supporting our leaders, helping our teams scale well, building the businesses around Benchmark, and making sure we keep creating opportunities for the people who have helped us get here.

That is a personal growth point for me. It is also an exciting one. I trust this team. I believe in what we are building. And I know that the strongest organizations are not built around one person being everywhere—they are built when capable people are empowered, supported, and given room to lead.

So this week, I am grateful. Grateful not only for the work at SFA Academy and the Benchmark team, but also for our partners at SFA, Henry County, GA Government, and the many other organizations who trusted us to help move their work forward. I am equally grateful for the momentum around SimpliSmart and Broadlink. There is a lot ahead of us. And I could not be more excited to make room for it.
