Structured Cabling Installation Contractor (As Needed)

Bring your field expertise to project work that helps organizations build dependable technology foundations.

Benchmark Technology is building a dependable network of experienced structured cabling installation contractors to support project-based work across our growing service markets.

The opportunity

This is an as-needed independent contractor opportunity for skilled professionals and crews who take pride in organized, dependable field work. Assignments may support new construction, renovations, expansions, technology refreshes, relocations, and campus or multi-site deployments for organizations that rely on their infrastructure every day.

What you may support

  • Install, route, label, test, and document Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, and related low-voltage cabling.
  • Prepare and maintain pathways, cable trays, sleeves, conduits, racks, patch panels, and telecommunications rooms.
  • Perform terminations, punch-downs, cable dressing, certification testing, and closeout documentation.
  • Support network, wireless access point, security-camera, access-control, workstation, and telecommunications deployments.
  • Read scopes and drawings, communicate field conditions early, and coordinate with Benchmark project leadership and client contacts.
  • Maintain clean, safe job sites and leave each location ready for the next phase of work.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated commercial structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience.
  • Reliable transportation, appropriate tools, and the ability to work safely in active business, education, healthcare, and public-sector environments.
  • Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and respect for client facilities and schedules.
  • Ability to work independently or alongside a crew, depending on the project scope.
  • Current local licensing, insurance, certifications, and background-clearance documentation when required for a specific assignment.

How the partnership works

Project availability varies by market, scope, timing, and client requirements. Before a project begins, Benchmark will confirm the scope, schedule, site expectations, and required documentation. Expressing interest allows us to understand your experience, service area, crew capacity, and capabilities so we can reach out when an assignment is a fit. It does not guarantee an assignment or create an employment relationship.

How to express interest

Please share your structured cabling experience, typical crew capacity, service area, relevant certifications, and availability. We will follow up when a project aligns with your qualifications.
